The glass and rammed earth studio was built in 1987 to house Mountolive Stained Glass, run by artist Judy Kotai. Visitors to the studio were able to watch work in progress and clients were encouraged to become involved in the progress of their work. This approach led to involvement in numerous community art projects involving stained glass including the Kalamunda Library Window, the Katherine Susannah Pritchard Library (stage one and stage two), Yallambee Aged Persons Hostel and the Ellenbrook Town Centre. Mountolive Stained Glass has also undertaken public art projects, architectural and domestic commissions.

More recently, the former studio has been adapted to provide a larger gallery space set amongst established gardens, where Judy Kotai and fellow painter and glass artist, Sara Attanasio, welcome visitors to view their works and share their inspirational surroundings.
